Hello

Hello my name is joe. I have been a member on this board before about 18 mos/ 2yrs ago when I finally discovered after much doctor consultation and a trip to the neurologist that I was  suffering from cluster headaches. That cycle lasted for a hellish 8 or 9 mos before it finally abated. A lot has happened since then. I moved to a new city, married my long time girlfriend, and now have a beautiful 2 yr old boy.
Life has not exactly been easy but is it ever?. I had almost thought I would never have to deal with this craziness again(but I knew I would eventually), but three weeks ago as I awoke in the middle of the night with the ice pick in my right eye I knew that my time of peace was over once again. luckily I had some imitrex packed away somewhere from my last cycle so I searched in pain until I found it,tearing half of my house apart in the middle of the night. I contacted a doc here in town(rochester new york) and got my imitrex refilled(thank god) and have been having three to four attacks a day since. I am glad this board still exists it was a great help to me last time. when I woke three weeks ago in pain the only thought that kept running through my head was "welcome back PUTA MADRE"

Hey Joe,

Yep, we can move to a different city, but the PUTA MADRE has this pesky habit of finding us anyway, doesn't it?

Well glad that at least you're here investigating the latest and best ways to counter punch this puta madre/futher mucker.  Cheesy

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

02, 02, 02......did I mention 02? 32 years with CH, it's STILL my first line and most effective abortive. It has all but eliminated my dependance on imitrex. Just finished a cycle and I only had to resort to imitrex about 4 times. Do read the oxygen info link on the left, worth a shot!

Do you have a decent prevent? Verapamil, Lithium, Topomax? Another way to reduce the number of hits you have to endure.

He'll give you a break now and then....but damn if he doesn't always come back. Cry

Joe
