NEED HELP
Jun 8th, 2010 at 6:25pm

My most recent cluster started on march 8th and lasted two months, and every hit responded well to the oxygen and ice that works for me. then it seemed like my cycle had ended with a week or so of of pain free time then something diffrent happend upon laying down for bed one nite before falling asleep i got hit with something that felt very simillar to a ch hit with a pain level around a 2 or a 3. so quickly ran to the tanks with my ice blocks and attempted to abort twice with o2 with no relife this pattern continued for a week and a half. pain seems to start at neck and shoulder then to the eye oppisite of my chs. went to dr and had an x ray wich revealed my cervical spine is twisted now the pain progressed to 8-10 almost everynight lasting hours on end has anyone experinced anything like this

Clearly, you need to follow-thru re. the spine issue and see what the problem is. Entirely possible that you don't have cluster headache but a cluster-LIKE issue which arises from the spine problem.

The difference is CH, as a primary disorder = CH which is not caused by another problem.

Cluster LIKE headaches may share some common symptoms with CH but are caused by another problem.

Only a good work-up will sort this question out.

I was diaignosed with clusterheadaches 14 years ago by a noted neuro and have scar tissue on my hypothaliums. Normally 10 to 15 minutes of o2 kills the hit. unfortunately I'm a contorter when i get hit, I was just wondering if anyone had developed cervicalgenic headaches, since the last two months in cycle I lock my head to my shoulder and my muscles rock up during a hit. needed some understanding or some advice becuse cant afford to go to the doc yet

One of the problems is you tense up when in pain (not just you everyone does, it's a natural response to pain).

You need to work on relaxing your muscles and no I'm not talking about doing this during a hit...not gonna happen.  When you are not suffering from a CH hit try a nice hot bath and or a hot shower massage.  If you can get access to a hot tub with air jets go for it.

It may sound lame but Yoga can be of help with this too.  Google Yoga and you'll find all kinds of yoga exercises that may also help to relax you.  Don't knock it I used to have horrible back pain due to muscle spasms and took a yoga class as a lark to see if it would be of any help, needless to say I was pleasantly surprised with the result.

This may at least help get you through the next few weeks or longer, until you can get to a doctor.

Good Luck!
