Has anyone had an MRI/CT/MRA during a headache?

Anytime I had tests, it was during a headache free moment.

I'm curious if test done while enduring the great pain would show anything?

I got this thing in my head, you see.  Kinda like a pet...with big teeth and a bad attitude.

This is a very good question. I would like to know more about this too.

Seaworthy, that's an interesting picture but I'm really new to all of this. I found a 3d image of the hypothalamus on some wiki page but this doesn't really tell me anything. Was this image taken during an attack?

What does it mean? What happens here? What does it tell?
I'm sorry, I'm probably way too enthusiastic if that's how one can call it. It's just... it's the first time it feels like I'm getting a grasp of this.

No apologies needed Ruva, it's a cool feeling to talk with thousands of people at once who get where you're coming from. Assuming one was able to sit still long enough, during an attack,  Grin....yeah I know...that would be tough! My guess is it would show some pretty swollen blood vessels around that massive nerve complex. But that is a totally "uneducated" guess on my part as I have no medical training!

I understood that the current theory is that there are subtle changes to the hypothalamus during a cycle, and those changes are what make us susceptible to individual attacks.  Then, during the remission periods the hypothalamus returns to a more normal state.  This is from memory of reading, so I could be mistaken.
