hi there my name is Rich and have been told by my doctor that i have a cluster
OMG the pain!!
at the moment i have two attacks a day which you could set your clocks by
i have one at 3-3.30pm which is a big problem because i am a truck driver and the second one i have is at 1-1.30am
the 1st one lasts about 30 minutes and is just bearable but the second attack lasts about 3 hours and is horrid, i have passed out with the second attack
my doctor has given me painkillers (CO-CODAMOL) but this has little effect
can anyone help me? has anyone got any tips to help me keep the pain down

due to Englands crappy health service i cant get to see a specialist untill the 23rd of june, a 5 week waiting list , untill then i dont know which stage im at

my wife allso thanks you, iv been sleeping up right on the sofa for 2 weeks now and had no sex  so any advice that gets me back to bed, she will be just as greatful 

i know of a friend who smokes a joint to get rid of his tenion headaches, has any clusterheads tried this?

i had to ask because i can feel pressure aswell as pain behind my eye and when im having a 8-10er on the kip scale i will try anything

i can safely say i will not be trying pot

2am at the moment and iv been hit but i took the advice about redbull Potter mentioned and im amazed 
its still painfull but im not doing the dance, id say about a 5 on the kip scale as opposed to a 8-10er i usually get, best £1.25 iv spent this year 

i have just learnt that one redbull wont cure the beast 
as usual between 1am and 1.30am the shadows are getting worse and worse, so i hit the redbull with great results, ok im still in pain but nothing like a full blown attack, usually im dancing around downstairs for about 3 hours, pulling what little hair iv got left out and crying, but this time its all over after about an hour, im over the moon, finally, i think. i can go to bed an cuddle my wife hehe, but OMG, one hour of sleep an im dancing with the beast again

looks like iv got a lot to learn!!!!

I'm also from England. When you get to see the Neurologist, make sure you ask for 02, I have been a sufferer for over 20 years and was always given Verapamil as a preventative, but as I now have a heart condition, I asked my GP for oxygen. It is wonderful, aborts within 5 - 10 minutes for me, make sure it's 15lpm script.

You can get all ingredients for O2 without a script, if waiting for 5 weeks is not an option.

Get the O2 cylinders from a welding supply shop, the non-rebreather mask from here or any medical supply store and order a regulator able to produce 15 lpm or more from eBay.

i can't imagine needing any kind of credentials to get welding o2. hell i can get it at tractors supply in town.

driving a truck and getting hit with an attack is a bitch. it scares the shit out of me and try to get pulled over. if you didn't live across the pond i'd send you my #.

if you can strap your o2 tanks down good and can safely  crank it up and huff it in before your face is completely on fire you might not have to pull over. sometimes theres nothing you can do but catching it early usually keeps it from escalating.  even if you think your gonna get hit huff ya some o2. once your  fully into a screamer o2 aint gonna help much

oh also. for god sake, stay as far away from pot and beer as you can get. that stuff sets my head on fire when i'm in a cycle. it might work for migraines but thats a totally different ailment
