Migraine treatment?
Apr 27th, 2010 at 12:44am

My girlfriend get migraines 2 or 3 times weekly.  Sad They are NOT CH's.  No known triggers.  She complains of many of the same pain areas affected by the Trigeminal Nerve.  OTC migraine meds do not help.  Energy drinks do not help.  Wondering if an trex inj (2 mg using the Imitrex Tip) might be worth trying for her?  Any suggestions?  Undecided No o2 available.  Thanks in advance

Trex and other triptans are originally against migraine.
Before using Trex a cardio-exam needed. Ask a neuro.

Only if a doc prescribes it. Itotka is right - Imitrex was originally designed to combat migraines.

No o2 available.

Unfortunately, o2 does not help Migraines.  Triptans do.

There are some people who have migraines and oxygen does help (E'dubs' wife, Joanna comes to mind).  That being said, I've tried O2 for migraines.  As long as I'm on the oxygen, it helps, but as soon as I quit, I'm back to square 1.

Agrees with others about using Imitrex without cardio exam.
