My doctor disappeared... dosage question
Apr 15th, 2010 at 4:23pm

In a case of very bad timing, I was watching the news last night while fighting off some shadows, and there is a report about how my doctor "retired".

Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Since my cycle is right on schedule for mid April and definitely on its way, I was going to stop in this morning and get my normal Dosepak and injection. But I have no idea what the dosage was for the injection of Depo-medrol.

Since the doctors office is locked up with all of my medical records, I was wondering if there is a standard dosage? All of my insurance forms just say "injection".

I'm stuck because this method has worked for me for the past 3 years to keep my cycle under control and I really don't want to change it up... Hopefully bringing in my old doctor bills and prescriptions will convince my normal physician to keep following the same treatment.

The Neuro should have sent reports to your PC, so they should have records of your treatments. I hope.

The way I read the article, the Doctor is under no obligation to release the records because he has given up his license, and he was the only doctor to treat headaches in the entire area.

This really does suck for you Quadpants.  Your GP should be able to phone some Headache Specialist cronies from other areas to learn what can/should be done.

Keep us posted please...OK?

You are responsible for knowing the dosage !

From your post you seem to be somewhat educated as to the nature of what you are dealing with.

Yeah I know, I guess I just assumed the doctor would always be there to give me the same dosage! Luckily I have enough verapamil and zomig to last me a long time so I don't have to come across as a drug seeker or something when I switch doctors.

Just a weird situation for me. Especially since it was literally 10 hours before I was going to stop in and I saw his office on the news.

Doesn't your pharmacist have the Rx on file?
