Ending Meds After Cycle? OK? Meds Full Time?
Mar 15th, 2010 at 12:27pm

So as i read through all the posts i notice that many of you take your meds only during a cycle.  I take verapimille full time never stop and get a bad cycle every year starting to the T, on thanksgiving!

Anyways.  My question is this.  Can i stop taking my meds once the cycle is over?  My doctors are no help so i appreciate any advice.  I currently take 180mg of Verap, 3x a day.  I go up ocassionally, but notice my heart gets a little upset from time to time.

Please see my Kaiser post should you have Kaiser for your INS.

Hi,

I used to be on Verapamil before I was diagnosed with a heart condition and I always tapered off after 6 weeks or so to see how the h/a's behaved, if I found that the h/a's were still going strong, I would up the dose again. I usually found my cycle was between 2-3 months. Then I would stop until the next cycle started.

I'm very surprised that you are still on it even when out of cycle. Have you have an ECG recently????
