First time I tried verapamil (320 mg per day), I started noticing veins bulging in my feet and hands - not always, but frequently enough to notice.  No general swelling, just bulging veins.  Then a few capillaries burst, leaving small black-and-blue marks in my palm (and elsewhere).  This perplexed my HA specialist and my GP, as verapamil is a vasoconstrictor and should be lowering BP.  EKG and BP were fine.  It was time to start tapering off the verap anyway, and these symptoms subsided.  I've since gone back on verap twice, without the bulging vein symptoms.

I only messed with Topamax for a week, years ago.  It made me perpetually thirsty, and I downed quarts of water & juice daily, but never bloated.

Do check this with your doctor.

Leg and ankle swelling/pain can be a side effect of Verapamil use.

In my case, if I'm on my feet for long periods of time leg/ankle swelling combined with nerve pain often occurrs.  It takes only a few minutes with my feet up to return to normal.

This didn't panic my Neruo. but it's definately something to cover with your Doc.

You can obtain a significant amount of Verapamil and other prescritpion drug information at Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Would the owner of the propane torch, egg beater, pipe expander and vise grips please claim these items. They're lodged in my head and I need the space.

Have heard it from a few others using verapamil, too.  My first year or even longer, there was feet swelling.  Not in the past few years afterward though staying on it.  Bodies may adjust somehow in the longer term.
