Bromo Trials... anyone got info?

NG Explorer said there are no trials on 2-Bromo currently planned. Could anyone give me as much info on the initial trial and what is underway? I have a contact in the pharmaceutical industry who I was talking to who was interested in this information.

Before anyone gets their hopes up, this contact is not a decision maker and thus there is very little , if any, chance that this will turn into anything, but I figured it was just gathering some info so why not.

I repeat, I am fairly sure this won't spark anything, but hey........ even if it was a janitor.... I'd do it.

Funny, I was given an article about this by a doc last month! I told him about the special on Nat'l Geo last week Wink

There was a Very short article published in Cephalalgia titled "Attack Cessation and remission induction with 2-bromo-LSD for cluster headache". John Halpern of Harvard apparently had a clinical case with 4 case study participants (oooohhh I know the thorough nature of it) - but it is considered an open-label trial at this point anyway. I guess Halpern would be the person to get in touch with Eric...
As far as the trial, one person had a 30% reduction in pain intensity and 73% reduction in frequency (after 2 months) for a period of 4 months, while the other 3 participants had complete or "near complete" remission of symptoms for at least 2 months after treatment! WOOT now That's What I'm talking About! If you get in touch with Halpern and he has room for more CCH participants, I might be interesting in moving to MA. Grin

(One more interesting fact - these 4 participants were outpatient in Hannover, Germany actually. They only had 3 treatments of BOL, or 2-bromo-LSD, and the treatments were separated by 5 days.)

For at least two of them (I was one of these lucky guys) the complete or "near complete" remission of symptoms stretched to 6 months.

Reply #8 - Nov 9^th, 2009 at 5:10pm Right now the holdup is the funding to be able to conduct a study in the States as soon as FDA approval is received. There is no point in applying though without the funding to do the study. For a mere half mil I'm sure Dr Halpern would be happy to name the study for you. Jerry
