They both have their inherent advantages and disadvantages.
Short answer:Yes, my heart and family are in Montany.
I loved it when I was at the Golden Gate, however I did feel displaced and it's far more serene here.

For those of you who don't know...John BBz used to walk the tight-rope over the Golden gate bridge in San Fransisco checking out all the "welds" I believe.

There is a picture of him somewhere doing just that. For those of us( o.k. ME.. who have a problem with heights) it is an awesomne sight to see him up there..wondering when the next hit will come and if he could get off of there in time.

John, you amaze me. You also make me laugh. You and Joan are two of my best friends. LOL

This morning's short pre-dawn excursion had its onset paused to reach for the nifty ice-scraper needed to rake across the first frosted windshield. At the first sunrise, through the picture window shears swooped the shadows of about a dozen sparrows around the house, some hovering with rapid flapping to look and inspect every nook and cranny for any small opening around the porch roof and house underhang for this winter's protection site. I guess they'd like to draw from any excess heat emanating. Then I thought, hey, aren't they called house sparrows?

Well, for such a small-bodied bird to have decided by representative assembly to stay this state through the winter, their forethought of preparation seems to be initiated by a cold night's disturbing chill. They do look more fluffy-feathered though. Good luck to them on their house-hunting.

The dashing squirrels in the last month made use of their time with sniffing territorial terra firma for burying and gathering from the Home Depot of autumn's fallen building material. They seem settled, just some final touch-up scavenging.

I wondered that my brain seems to fall somewhere in between. No, not a month's preparation for winter, but I did have an ice-scraper in the car ready. I'm not that far from needing fluffy feathers. Roll Eyes

Your California friends miss you too and I miss THEM. Now all I have is Jimi and Ruth. Wink

I have been assured that my first winter in Kentucky will not have blizzards or more than a few inches of snow off and on. I bought some winter boots just in case. I don't know how you folks in the cold climates wear these things though. My feet are used to sandals. Undecided
