Wish I could be there for it.  She was built for a purpose that we seem to have forgotten in this country lately.  In fact if you were to ask kids now days I doubt if 10% would have any idea what she was.

If I remember correctly, she is the oldest commissioned ship in the world!

She is STILL an activated ship on the US Navy logs!

What an impressive ship to tour!

CAUTION:  Do NOT smoke when using or around oxygen.  Oxygen can permeate your clothing or bedding.  Wait, before lighting cigarette or flame.

Keep fire extinguisher available, and charged.

I was onboard yesterday. She's under restoration. She'll be doing a turnaround with no masts or yard arms but thats not stopping them.

Her cannons sound evey night at sunset.

She's crewed by the US Navy and  Marines.

They'll probably take better aim now that they realized the masts and yard arms are gone.

At least you don't have to worry about being hanged, but how do they know when to start drinking?

Most people just stop in the souvenir shop instead of hauling a mast off for their mantlepiece.  Or maybe your trying to fit it into a bottle.

Nice pic, Don.  Good to see 'er.
