Sorry about the snow so early Potter.  I have a lot of respect for folks who endure 7 months of winter without losing their minds.

The number two man for the UN climate control group in a speech in Germany last week said that we have to look again at the data, that the earth has not warmed in the last 10 years, in fact has cooled, and that it looks as though we are facing a 20-30 year cooling cycle.  Better cut a little more firewood!

Still quite warm and dry here for the UK

The smell of Jasmine in the air

The sound of insects and the drone of dunken football chanting breaking the quiet that is your backgarden haven

"She stood there laughing ha ha ha ha"

Tom Jones has got a lot to answer for.
At least if there's snow it'll keep em inside

I've been working weekends on a crew that clears brush and trees. My job is cutting up the trees with a chain saw. Most of it is Oak that was already dead because of a long drought.

I drive a pickup truck. Guess what I've been bringing home with me for the past several months? (No, not illegals workers!)

It's going to be a toasty warm winter in front my fireplace this winter.

Grin Good point......

Compared to you Northerners, winter is short and mild this far South, but we do get into the teens during cold nights.

I do understand real cold - spent time in Alaska during the pipeline years. But, remember that I moved here from California, so anything below 35-40 degrees is cold!

Hey, I'll take any excuse to build a roaring fire  Wink

Many years ago, watching a nightly weather report, it happened one day that the warmest temp for the lower 48 was in Phoenix and the coldest in Flagstaff, AZ.  I was stunned into remembering that, they're not that far apart.  Seemed amazing unfamiliar with the lay of the land.    Smiley

I shoulda called you Marc. I had a flatbed haul away some significant stuff from my pin oak the other day that was threatening my house. This tree would fit right in at the Muir Woods.

Temp soared to 58 this afternoon. When not raining, it's perfect September weather here. I picked the perfect time for painting the house. If I didn't have such a cold, I'd clean up after myself.

Buncha weenies. I love winter. I can't wait to try out one of the three snowblowers that my friend stores in my garage. He only brings me itty bitty ones that need my attention though Sad
