Got my O2ptimask!

I got it on Monday, I have a few questions.

First of all, it works wonderfully. So much better than the flimsy disposable masks. (My Grandpa was wondering WHY I kept destroying those masks...) So, since my Grandpa let me order it, he told me to make sure I take care of it or else we'll be going back to the old ones.

So I need some info on upkeep. I got the $27 version of it, but I need to know what the best way to clean the inside of the mask is? And about how long does this version last normally before I'd need to get another, or upgrade?

For those of you who still are debating getting one, think of this : Those regular bags? You can't take in a big deep breath all at once if you feel the need to... With the 3 liter bag? You can!

I'm going to be taking mine in when I see my headache specialist, and going to show the home health care company here it, since I know they have at least one other clusterhead patient.

As far as I'm concerned, cluster busting has been the best treatment I've tried. No migraines since I started it, and my hits have gotten so much better. Wanna know more?

Sounds like it was $27 well spent. I was aborting pretty OK with the typical non re-breather mask but if the 02ptimask can help me abort even quicker then who am I to argue.

Go forth and educate... Smiley

GREAT job in teaching, Mystina!

I clean my mask (only) by just using the kitchen sink.  I dip it into a sink of dishwater that has Dawn dish washing soap in it, and then just wash it as I do the dishes (NO, I don't use my dishwasher ... LOL).

As far as how long it lasts, that I can't tell you.  I would be willing to bet that you could get at least six months out of it.  Once the mask gets too bad to use, MrsDeej will gladly sell you just the mask.  You don't have to buy a full new kit, unless you want to.

I know some sufferers buy a second one, anyhow, just to have a spare on hand.

I hope this helps.
