Generic Imitrex?
Mar 31st, 2009 at 9:32pm

It's been a couple of years since I've been on the site, which means a nice long remission, but The Beast returned a couple of weeks ago.  I've found over the years that Imitrex serves my case best, and finding out about the vials on this site years ago was a great help.

I re-upped my prescription a few days ago, and picked up it up today (gotta keep adequate stocks these days, I guess), and was surprised to see a generic sumatriptan made by Sandoz in Singapore.  Having only used the Glaxo product in the past, I'm wondering if anyone has had any issues with the generic?

On a good note, as an episodic 49 yr old, this cycle seems to be much less severe than they were when I was younger, and the 2007 episode wasn't as horrible as I remembered them to be either.  Perhaps there is some truth o the though that as one gets older, in some cases the severity of the attacks diminishes.

Wishing PF days and nights to all!

So far I have not heard of anyone having any problems with the generic imitrex.

Very happy to hear your only having a mild CH episode this time!  Wish it hadn't happened at all though.

Take care!

WOOHOO!  You mean there is some hope for this 59 year young kid?

Oh, wait a minute ... Does that mean I have to grow up, first?

LOL!

I am glad that you are having a mild cycle, so far.  I hope it stay that way.  Mild and SHORT!

Have you looked into oxygen?  It is much cheaper, and safer that 'trex.  If it has not worked for you in the past, I strongly suggest that you try it again.  We have made a lot of refinements to the procedures that work the best.  Please read the information on the left side of your screen, behind the oxygen info tab.

Good luck!

Chuck

I get the generic Sumatriptan tabs from a Canadian pharmacy. Used it a few times during my cycle last summer... it seemed that it took longer to kick in than the genyoowhine stuff, but that may be an illusion because it was all a new medication to me. But eventually it does do the job. Although I second the vote for O2!
