from episodic to chronic

I've read on many testimonials and various sites about sufferers who went from episodic to chronic. It's my biggest fear because every two years Feb to be exact my cycles are becoming longer and longer.Is it a case that you just don't come out of your cycle or is it a gradual thing.To people that this has happened you have my deepest sympathies, it must be a nightmare...! Though i really do believe that these demons make us stronger as individuals........

The definition of chronic is going for 1 year without a pain-free break of 30 days or more.

In 2 months, and 2 days, I will be considered chronic. At the start of my cycle, the idea terrified me.

Now? It doesn't bother me. I live my life in between hits. You do what you can, while you can, and take care of the hits when they come.

With any chronic illness, at least from what I've found, you take whatever good, pain free time that you can get. Fearing when the bad is going to come doesn't STOP it... It just makes you more nervous, and wastes some of the time that you could have been spending living.

Being chronic is not the end of the world. It is all in attitude!

I was episodic for 20 years, and then the last 10 have now been chronic. Ya know what? My 30 years with the beast, and life has not ended! Life STILL goes on!

You learn to adjust to it. It does not define me, just as my sexy blue eyes do not define me. I can't help that I am a studly, charming, sexy old fart. It is just who I am. Same with clusters. It is just a PART of me, not the whole. It does NOT define who I am.

As we always say: "Don't dwell on the hits, dwell on the painfree time BETWEEN hits! Live life to your fullest!"

I suppose iv'e been chronic for the last 12 months although they seemed to be quite mild attacks every day, perhaps the verapamil sorta works!
Having said that, the last few weeks have been a nightmare and IT'S changed again(differing times, more painful)
Anyway, just know that i've got to get on with it.
Not sure the wife thinks that though
