Higher flow rate articles?
Mar 5th, 2009 at 1:06pm

Hey guys,
I was mentioning this to my headache specialist, I've got the PDF that Batch sent me a while back on the 25LPM, but do we have any articles other than this?

Anything relating to that, if we have any links to things in journals is what I could use.

Off to be terrorized....

As far as I'm concerned, cluster busting has been the best treatment I've tried. No migraines since I started it, and my hits have gotten so much better. Wanna know more?

I don't think that this is Mystina's problem ...

Docs like papers and articles (including lots of diagrams) written by other docs.

Don't know about anyone else, but when I bolt out of bed with my hand stuck to my head, 25 lpm ain't enough to keep up. If I had the money, I'd buy a demand regulator so I could go full tilt and not have to wait for the damn bag to fill.

Later, when I calm down a bit I can crank her down a notch because I'm getting it under control.

I know that sucking the bag flat at 25 works way faster than my old regulators at 12 and 15. Not always, but most of the time I can kill the sucker in 6-7 minutes instead of 15 or 20 minutes, or not at all.

I don't get shadows it's all or nothing for me. When the pain's climbing the scale like a chimp on steroids, those few minutes are worth gold to me.

Not saying that it's the same for everyone, but my imagination isn't good enough to fool me on this.

Exactly.  Wink I figured that the more documentation we can provide to specialists on this, the better. She and her collages have quite a few students, so it's not just going to benefit her... It'll benefit anyone who they treat with CH.

On top of that, the neurologists at the hospital treat people on medicaid / people on medicare / totally uninsured for about a 80-100 mile area around it. With oxygen being the cheapest and safest treatment... I'm sure you can get the idea of why I'm asking for any articles. Wink

Unfortunately, this is all a relatively new development in aborting cluster hits.  AND ... It was brought out into the open, right here on ch.com.

As far as I know, there are not any doctors who have studied this, and published on it.  I am fairly certain (with the help of a little inside information ... {so sue me!}  LOL) that there IS a paper due out very soon, but so far, I don't think there is anything.

So, at THIS time, I think you will have a real hard time finding any written articles about 25 LPM, and higher, treatment, unless you count what is posted here.

PLEASE, if you DO find anything, let us know!

Good luck!

Chuck

CAUTION:  Do NOT smoke when using or around oxygen.  Oxygen can permeate your clothing or bedding.  Wait, before lighting cigarette or flame.

Keep fire extinguisher available, and charged.

Hmm... Well, the 02 page does mention that some people have found success with higher flow rates. Any idea when the article does come out?

Can I poke someone with a stick to make it come out faster? D: I can scare small children and dogs by threatening to spank them without ever doing it. I'm sure I could torture SOME journal into publishing it.

"RAGH. ARTICLE. OXYGEN, WANT, PUBLISH. GO!"

I'll write an article. Not that it would do any good considering I can't write, nor am I affiliated with any publications. I'm no doctor, but I do play one in my tool shed....wait, did I say that out loud?

25LPM is nice, but 40LPM is super badass awesome good.

I too would enjoy a demand regulator. As a matter of fact, I demand one right now. 'D man is keeping me from my demand regulator dammit.

Ok, maybe a few too many Dr Peppers this morning. sheesh

btw, Nice avatar Batch! heh Yoda..."away put your weapon. I mean you no harm."
