Not much in the scientific literature about this one, although it is anti-inflammatory and reduces IL-1, one of the inflammatory immune hormones that is elevated in CH.

It is also a rich source of anthocyanins (the red/purple/blue pigments found in many fruits) ... some of these can block substance P and CGRP, 2 of the chemicals involved in transmitting pain/heat sensations.
