Oxygen therapy--exciting "new" treatment
Mar 5th, 2009 at 12:38am

Roll Eyes  I just read an article in a Canadian magazine called homemakers.com about new treatment for cluster headaches called oxygen therapy.  New???  I started using oxygen to abort my clusters 5 years ago when I read about it on this website, and I am sure that many of you have been using it longer than that.  A bit behind the times in headache research, don't you think?

At least I got a good chuckle over it.

I got a laugh out of that too.   I've been using 02 to abort for 22 years now.   Grin

Bayard T Horton described oxygen treatment for CH in 1943 (that's 66 years ago).

But that's too new to be included in the text book some doctors have inherited from their granddad.    Roll Eyes

Oxygen treatment of headaches was first mentioned in literature in 1939. Mr. Charles E. Rhein, Linde Air Products Co., reported to Dr. Alvarez at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN the successful treatment of severe "migraine" attacks by breathing pure oxygen.

Yeah.. it's kinda funny, but VERY scary at the same time.  It just goes to show how uninformed the rest of the world is about out little slice of hell we got here.

WOW!!!

A new treatment?

OXYGEN?  How can that POSSIBLY be any good?  Heck there is oxygen in the air we breath ... BAH!!! Gotta be hogwash ...

What are you?  A snake oil salesperson?

Can't fool ME!

(What is scary is that there are people, including doctors, that honestly DO feel the above way!)

CAUTION:  Do NOT smoke when using or around oxygen.  Oxygen can permeate your clothing or bedding.  Wait, before lighting cigarette or flame.

Keep fire extinguisher available, and charged.

It's cold up here! We spend so much time in our igloos it takes a long time for our important parts to thaw out! Our brains are not the first things to thaw.We have to wait before we can contribute to the acedemic world! It takes time to catch up with the rest of you all. Cheesy Cheesy
