O2 mask from headachemasters.com
Jan 24th, 2009 at 9:06pm

I just received a new mask from headachemasters.com and I don't think it is working correctly.  I emailed them but haven't heard back yet.

Just to be sure I am correct, I should be able to breath in the O2 and braethe out without removing the mask....correct?  I can breathe in but I can't breathe out with the mask on.  I was able to do so with my old clustermasx.

Maybe I have to change the valve postions.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I don't know the mask you speak of but yes...the whole idea of a non re breather is the valves allow the 02 in, but let everything you exhale go out. For now I'm afraid you'll have to pull it away from your face to breathe out. If the exhaled air goes back in the bag you dilute the 02...that's no good.  Sad

I have one of these masks and it works very well. Have you checked the site's instructions for use. There maybe something you are missing.

The guy who sells these is very helpful. He also suffers from CH.

Looking at the picture on his site, the mask looks very much like the one that Life Gas (Linde) sells here in the United States.  I would be willing to bet that you have the "T" valve assembled in the wrong direction.

Look at this picture, and notice the way the arrows on the valves are pointing.  Is yours assembled this way? (also, you probably have a mask, where this shows a mouthpiece)
