Title: Experience with muscle relaxation meds ? Post by Multivitamin on Mar 18th, 2017 at 12:23pm
Hi CH-Team,
wondering if anyone here has (negative? ) experience with a muscle relaxation drug called "Ortoton" ? Not to treat CH, but the Neck pain that comes along due to the permanent stress induced muscle tension / Bad posture throughout my day while in cycle. This stuff is Methocarbamol, so no opiod. I know this board will not replace a Dr. advice but it's weekend so intetersted if someone can give more thoughts on if a muscle relaxation drug can theoretically make CH attacks worse ? Didnt dare to try yet. I don't know if it at sses the blood / brain barrier either, gonna read that up now. Any other advice to treat a horrible Bad Neck, please let me know. Heat is a no-go, triggers instantly >:( |

Methocarbamol works on the CNS to trigger nerves to relax. If the problem is insufficient magnesium, a natural muscle relaxant, methocarbamol will be essentially useless with a boatload of side effects.
Stick with the anti-inflammatory regimen. It's a balanced daily regimen that will help prevent your CH and relax your muscles naturally. Take care and please keep us posted. V/R, Batch |

This may sound silly to some of you. But, i have had some success with Tiger Balm.
I use it on the back of my neck and even rub it into the area where my attacks begin on the side of my head. Mind you I shave my head and wouldn't recommend using it with hair. But, the results have been very positive. You can buy Tiger Balm in any Walmart in the same aisle you get Icy Hot and Ben Gay. |

I too use Tiger Balm! It doesn't work every time, but enough that I keep it handy...

Hmmm... I used to get Tiger Balm at the Tiger Balm Garden in Hong Kong during liberty port calls while deployed to Vietnam... As I recall... it didn't do much good for hangovers... but you did have a pleasant air about you...
Take care, V.R, Batch |
