Title: How Long is Benadryl Ok for?
Post by amandabe on Nov 2nd, 2016 at 11:34pm
Hello,

Amanda here writing for my friend again.

This is the longest cycle of her life right now and itīs getting to be pretty draining...

As it is now she is on the D3 (just the maintenance - we did a couple loading dosis) and benadryl.  Like Batch suggested she has been taking it for a week - the headaches go down and then she stops and after 3 days it suddenly comes back.  She did this 3 times now (one week taking, three days off - headaches return then she takes it again and they go down again etc). She is also on a low histamine diet.

Batch, what do you think she should be doing?  Itīs 3.5 months long now, normally she has a cycle of 6 weeks.  Itīs much less strong - but it just doesnīt stop.

Many thanks,
Amanda

Hey Amanda,

Regarding cycle length... There are likely several reasons why a cycle doesn't end "on schedule" and we haven't a clue what they are...

I would go back up to the vitamin D3 dose that provided relief and be sure to see the doctor for a lab test of my serum 25(OH)D, calcium and PTH.

As long as serum calcium remains within its normal reference range it really doesn't matter what vitamin D3 dose is taken up to 40,000 IU/day or the resulting 25(OH)D serum concentration.  PTH should be near the low end of its normal reference range.

Again, physician supervision with monthly labs is essential when taking vitamin D3 doses > 10,000 IU/day.

Your friend might want to consider taking curcumin at 500 mg/day.  Curcumin is another potent anti-inflammatory agent that has helped several CHers with similar problems.

Take care and please keep us posted.

V/R, Batch
