Title: NEW HERE
Post by winkawak on Apr 10th, 2016 at 7:33pm
I think this is first time in my life im experiencing CH. Im 24 and i had migraines before but discover it was related to dehydration and never had one ever since. Yesterday i started feeling pain in my left eyebrow throughout the day and got worse at night. I started having all the symptom of CH and mild fever. The pain last night lasted close to 10 hours, i waited it out and it felt like hell. I couldnt sleep at all and still had slight fever.

I decided to take a hot shower and after few minutes after i got out my pain started decreasing and i was able to catch couple hours of sleep. Even though pain is not as bad as last night, im still experiencing dull headache pain on the left eyebrow about a 5 on scale 1-10(worst). From what im reading pain should come and go but it seens this dull pain never goes away. I havent went to ER due to no insurance, and im afraid tonight will be as bad as last night. I did alot of reading and i fell helpless, my parents dont seen to have this so im confused where i got this from if its hereditary.

Saw some videos on youtube of some sufferers attacks and i must say mine even at its worst are not at their level. Mine feels like migraine, throbbing and stabbing pain.

It's always best to check in with a Headache Specialist for a proper diagnosis! Their are many headache types that mimic CH's. In the meantime, take the cluster quiz, the link is on your left, 4th down from the top.

It does not sound like Cluster Headache to me.  There is never a fever and it never lasts that long.

There are a lot of things that make people think they have CH when they don't.  One person recently had shingles in his eye.  He could have lost his sight in that eye if he didn't get a correct diagnosis in time.

Don't mess around with this.  See a doctor soon.

Hi and welcome

Another recommendation to see a headache specialist. There are many possible causes of the headache symptoms that you are describing and you really need to work with someone who can work out just what is causing yours.

What we can't do is to diagnose you, that needs a medical specialist who has the skills, experience and has done the appropriate diagnostic tests.

One question which can be answered is around CH and hereditary. Whilst for a small number of people there is a family link, for the vast majority of people there is no family link. So don't spend time worrying about that part.

Any questions, just ask, we have all gone through the process of having headache pain and having to get a diagnosis. Hope you get yours soon.

Get thee to a doctor, immediately! A continuous pain like that is not CH, but there are some other things that present in a similar fashion. Some of them are basically innocuous, but some can be life-threatening. Don't wait around, please!

Then, please do us a kindness and let us know how you get on. We don't like to lose anybody, and if we don't hear back we can worry.

All the best, and that is meant, not just a pleasantry.

Jerry
