Title: Is Topamax extending my cycle?
Post by Eroc on Jun 5th, 2014 at 7:25am
I am on about 700 mg a day of Topamax and while it is suppressing nearly all of my attacks a recent trip to to California with a two hour time change proved to me that I am not out of the woods yet on this four month long cycle yet.   I have been working with Batch and am following his instructions to a T before anyone asks.

I am also on 720 mg verapamil and 1200 mg of Lithium per day.  I am episodic and have never had a cycle last this long and am starting to get very concerned that I may have to start looking for a new career that doesn't involve travel and learn to live on Topamax.

The side effects for the most part go away after a few days but I suspect they are prolonging the cycle.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Eric

No way of knowing. You are on four programs/meds at the same time and so it's not possible to know which single item is affecting your head.

This is a major argument for not trying the shotgun approach: at some point, you'll want to cut the amount of meds you are using but which one do  you drop?

I'm wondering if I shouldn't dump everything and start over.   With the exception of the D3 of course.  But I would really like to know what dr I could see who could figure out why that regimen isn't working for me and the other 19% I represent.

Batch any ideas?

BTW I am waiting on my latest labs but I expect them to be rather high based on how much I have been taking Batch.

Hi Eric,
If it was me on that many meds I would talk with my doctor
about dropping the Topamax and upping the verapamil to
900-1000mg to see how I go. Just food for thought.

Hoppy.
