Title: D3 - most important cofactors Post by yelsew on May 27th, 2014 at 3:47pm
Last year I had success with the D3 regimen for 6 months a pain free head. But eventually I started to get painful joints and acne on my back started to worsen so I had to stop. I just took the D3 + omega 3, and calcium and magnesium once in a while.
This year I learned that the joint pain might be because I didn't add vitamin k2 to the regimen. Does anyone know which cofactors are the most essential? If I only add 1 or 2 cofactors, which should that be? I also had trouble just now finding the last updated regimen. Maybe it would be good to keep a dedicated topic in the important topics section which gets updated with the greatest and latest D3 regimen. |

Hey Yelsew,
Good question. The most important vitamin D3 cofactor after vitamin D3 and Omega-3 Fish Oil is magnesium... It supports the enzymatic processes that metabolize vitamin D3 to 25(OH)D and on to calcitriol (1,25(OH)2D3, the active hormonal form of vitamin D3. After that come the vitamin D3 cofactors: zinc, boron, vitamin A (retinol), vitamin K2 and the three month course of vitamin B 50. These supplements are equally important to ensure a favorable response. The joint and back pain is usually due to the additional serum calcium made possible by taking vitamin D3... Make sure you're taking at least 400 mg/day magnesium. You also need to cut back or eliminate the calcium supplements along with taking vitamin K2. This should help clear up the joint and back pain within a few days. Take care and please keep us posted. V/R, Batch |

Hi Yelsew,
I have been taking the Batch Vit D3 regimen for 1 year and 4 months now and the response has been amazingly good. After a while on the regimen I started getting lower back pains and wondered if it was due to the calcium i was taking (400mg calcium citrate). At the same time there was talk going on here about K2, so i looked into and sure enough, I was not taking the right kind of Vit K and not enough of it. I brought it up on one of the threads here and Batch advised me to stop taking the calcium for a while, which I did. The pain in my back went away after a month or so and after another month I started taking the 400mg calcium citrate again, only this time i am also taking the right Vit K2 that Batch recommends as part of the regimen. My back remains pain free - as well as my head :) All the best |
