Anyone tried this? I googled it and many articles have been written and it seems to have a 70% success rate.

There are numerous studies going on regarding Capsaicin's pain killing abilities. As Potter said, in its current form, it's not helping CH at all. I wouldn't be surprised to see some effective treatments come out of it down the road, but it's not there yet.
Do you have an effective treatment regimen for your CH? Joe |

Figure noting ventured nothing gained. I plan on using habanero hot sauce on a q tip then rubbing it on the inside of the nostril on the effected side. Will advise... Wife said no will go get some cream at drug store and try will advise.

Give it a go and see. As you say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
What else are you using for your CHs? Have you got a preventive, like verapamil or lithium, to cut down how many CHs you get? Anything else to abort them, like oxygen or injectible imitrex? Keep reading and you'll learn a lot plus ask any questions you can think of. |

G'day Dadeger,
I agree with your wife, putting hot chilli up your nose will have you sneezing and doing the light fangdangle around the room [smiley=nopity.gif] I found by rubbing extra strengh heat gel on my temple making sure keeping it away from your eye, and blocks of ice wrapped in a cloth applied to the back of your neck can help reduce the duration of the attack. Dadeger, go to the top of the page and type SinusBuster in the search box. You will find shills appearing on a frequent basis for quite a while, but they are always shot down quickly by those of us who have been around a while. Capsacin does have some usages, but CH is not one of them, at least not yet. Joe is more open minded to it than am I. I know it has been useful for joint pain, etc., of those who have claimed it helped for a cycle have not been so positive on the second go round.

After a little more research I am sticking with the O2, Imitrex and have added the vitamin regime and the Red Bull to my arsenal against the beast.

That vitamin regimenhas me at three years plus pain free after well over 30 years of episodic ch. Hoping it does the same for you.

SinusBuster, which has capsaicin, works great for my other sinus issues. It doesn't do much to subdue CH pain. I tried it once for that, and got only 10 minutes or so of relief. I wouldnt bother if I were you.

I have used it off/on for a year. It does work for me about 50-60% of the time. Some times it may only take the edge off, other times it has stopped it...
