Was there anything your doctor prescribed to help you manage for the time being and does he suggest you see a further specialist?

Hi Yeah I'm on Naproxen 250mg two twice a day and omeprazole for any stomach symptoms if they appear. Getting blood work done on Friday as he stated it was rare for my age group and he wanted to see if it was anything else but was sure my symptoms where consistent with CHS. Only showing signs for about 2 weeks and only at night when I'm sleeping, Severe pain only lasting for a few seconds then half my head my eye and right down my neck ache for hours after the hot poker in the eye pain goes away. Does this get worse? |

Yes, no, maybe! ;) You can go bat-crazy trying to predict what the beasty will or won'rt do to you. It's best to just concentrate on always having a battler plan ready to go, and see what beasty throws at you.
Talk to your doc about using melatonin, an over the counter sleep aid here in the states. Many have found they can avoid the night time wake up hits by taking 9-18 mg of melatomnin about 30 minutes before bedtime. It's cheap, certainly worth talking to the doc given the high level of success. Joe |

If you have CHs it's unlikely an NSAID is going to help. Unless you actually have a similar disease like paroxysmal hemicrania. Feels like CHs but yields to indocin or similar meds. Please read here about effective preventatives, the use of prednisone as a bridge, and abortives like O2 and Imitrex. They can make all the difference. God bless. lance
