Title: Hello everyone!
Post by clusterica on Dec 6th, 2012 at 7:45am
Haven't been here for a long time.. lots of stuff was going here: as you know i got married and now i changed my status to a mom! I have beautiful 3 month old baby girl.

But life isn't that easy, the beast came back last week and refuses to leave me.. i have one morning attack and one night attack and it lasts an hour.
The problem is that i can't take any pills or drink a can of energy drink because i'm breasting my baby.
I can tell that contractions are less painful that these attacks!
I have periodic cycles every two years for one month, last year i didn't have it because of the pregnancy hormones.
So any ideas how to deal with it?
I'm from Israel and it's problematic here to get oxygen can.

Can you get hold of welding oxygen? It is just as good as medical oxygen at killing CHs. Lots of people here use it.

Welcome back Rica, congratulations on the wedding and the baby! Sorry beasty decided to come back. Go to the meds board and read the link "123 pain free days and i think I know why." It's a daily vitamin/anti inflammatory regimen that's helping a lot of people. Print out the details and talk to your pediatric doctor, see if they see any conflicts with breast feeding.

And MANY here use the welding oxygen succesfully.

While breast feeding you do nothing, you take nothing, without your doc's approval!

There are too many metabolic interactions with a newborn which the general reader here is not aware of. Recommendations about taking this or that, regardless of effectiveness for a general, adult population, is not a safe move.

Shalom, that is a tough situation I wish on no mother, let alone a breastfeeding mother.

If it gets real bad, use formula instead of breastfeeding, so that you can take meds....just a thought.

The bottom line is you must take care of yourself so that you can be there to effectively take care of your baby.

Good Luck! :)

Chag Chanuka Sameach Anna,

Ask your doctor for a lab test for 25-Hydroxyvitamin D, a.k.a. 25(OH)D...  This is the serum level metabolite of vitamin D3... I suspect you and likely your baby are vitamin D3 deficient...

The 400 IU/day vitamin D3 most physicians prescribe during and after pregnancy is far too low...

A daily intake of 6,000 to 10,000 IU/day vitamin D3 is much better for you and the baby... particularly if breast feeding...

A dose like this will also help prevent your cluster headaches...
