Title: Sleepwalking problem
Post by AppleNutClusters on Oct 27th, 2012 at 5:32pm
So I spent the entire morning kind of rubbing my right arm, thinking it was sore because I slept on it. I finally looked at it in the mirror and lo, I have a long angry scratch and deep bruising on my arm. That I don't remember happening. I was a regular sleepwalker as a kid, and lately I've had more than a few episodes of this. I'm thinking it's related somehow to the constant CH (it's been a year now of daily hits), but I'm not sure. Or maybe when I was aborting my hit, I fell over and didn't remember it?   :-?

Anyone else have adult sleepwalking?

Not sleepwalking as such but I've done things during a K-10 that I simply don't remember. A full cut and polish of my 4WD which usually takes me a 6-pack, and another time police found me at 2am wandering naked two miles from home.

Just think of the adventures we'd miss if it wasn't for CH.

Yeah Brian, it seems that this round of CH is triggering my sleepwalking behavior. I mean, it makes sense: stress, anxiety, pain from CH triggering the behavior. But it worries me a lot, because I just don't like doing things I don't remember. Last time I burned myself by trying to cook with the crock-pot, apparently.

And apparently lithium can contribute to sleepwalking, according to my internet research.

I do. Started in my teens (about 15 or so) after my parents separated. Ended at about 18 or so. Clusters and sleep apnea started at almost 20. Sleepwalking started again about 2 years ago (at age 22) once my clusters began to get really bad.

Lenny, I'm not saying it's common. But more than a few articles I found on various MD websites suggested that lithium can contribute to sleepwalking. I'm thinking it's more likely in someone with a history of such (like myself), but that aspect wasn't addressed. Honestly, it doesn't matter if it's the lithium or just me... I'm just confused by it and hope it will stop. I've started taking more melatonin and valerian also. (Ew, that stuff is stinky!)
