Title: Oxygen and Medicare Post by Giovanni on May 25th, 2012 at 7:31am
Can anyone tell me if there has been any changes in Medicare payment for oxygen use with clusterheadaches? From what I understand they will NOT pay for it.
I have a new neuro here in NC after moving here 7 years ago. She said that they would cover this expense. I don't believe it. Right now I have a set up where I can obtain M tanks for $10.00 and E's for $8.00----delivery is $50.00. I call them and get when I need it. I know if this new doctor orders the 02 and they are not reimbursed, I'll get stuck with the bill @$500-600 a month. Yikes Any insight into this matter would be appreciated as I'm new to this medicare structure. PF John :) |

Giovanni...call this number...(866) 713-1870...they have a program for financial hardship...i just called them and they are closed,so perhaps after the holiday...i spoke with a woman here in the L.A. area a few minutes ago and she mentioned as long as you have a prescription, that there should be no problem getting you set up...wishing you nothing but the best.....Lenny

Thanks lenny :)
My friend who is a retired rep from merck said let the woman (neuro) work her payment code magic! Anyway the most I'd get stuck is a couple months of payments at full price. Thanks for the telephone number that would be my next step. john :P |
