Title: Med Student
Post by Callico on May 20th, 2012 at 8:51pm
I was seeing my Neuro on Fri because I've developed vertigo after bad hits about two weeks ago.  This is something totally new after 34 yrs, so I thought I ought to get it checked out.  Had a rather interesting visit with the Dr about someone at Loyola University Medical Center having a Deep Brain procedure done for CH.  My Dr observed at least a part of the procedure and is going to be getting me some info on it.  Not that I am willing to go that route yet, but he asked if I would consider it.

Anyway, the other interesting part of the appt was that he had a Med Student with him who got to observe a K5 in progress when he came in the room.  As the Dr was doing some checking on a couple of things I got about 15 mins to educate the student about CH and to give him some insight into dealing with patients.  All in all it was a profitable day I think.  We'll see what the MRI shows.  (Prob nothing, but we all know how that goes.)

That should be something for the medical student to remember. Hopefully they got to see how wonderful oxygen is to kill off CHs too.

No chance of that.  They didn't have any in the room.  In the rooms they do have it none of the regulators go higher than 15 lpm.  Previously I was told "You can't possibly breath 15 lpm."  I told her, "Obviously, you've never seen CH".

Oh lord how i hate ignorance.  I would want so badly to come in with my 45lpm regulator, hook it up and then tell them to give me some alcohol to induce an attack and then just, sit back and learn. That IS what theyre supposed to do, isnt it?  Learn??????
