No, Icepicks are usually sudden spikes that dont last very long. HC is a continual headache very similar to clusters. I know cause Ive had cluster cycles too :( indomethicin is the # one line prevent for hc. I just dont know many peeps with this condition and would love to share. best Anthony |

Anthony,
Do you have CH or HC? I saw Dr. Newman today and I am going to test to see which I have... How are you doing? Tate |

Hi,
My husband was diagnosed with chronic paroxsysmal hemicrania, but I think her really has hemicrania continua because the pain is pretty much always there. I have two questions for members of this thread: 1. Does a massage help your hemicrania continua? 2. Is the headache made worse by stress? My husband gets really bad attacks when he's at work. His job is very very stressful. I gave him a massage the other night and he felt better (with the pain still in the background though). I'm wondering if this may indicate that the diagnosis was incorrect and he actually has some type of tension headache. Would really appreciate a reply! Thanks |

Hello
Is your husband on indomethicin? If not does he have a neurologist or headache specialist? They ususally use indomethicin to rule in or out hemicrainia. its the # one line prevent. Stress will make any headache worse in my opinion. Massage can be helpful for sure. For me deep tissue is a big No can trigger a headache for me. My diagnosis is hc/cluster mix. I have tried most meds and now med free and have been on d3 regime for quite awhile and I knw it helps me alot! I feel better since I am off of verapamil my daily headaches are MUCH less and I am convinced the verap was causing my chronic daily headaches! Anthony |

Hi Anthony,
thanks for your reply. Yes, my husband has been on Indomethacin but it isn't helping much. Did you try anti-depressants at all like cymbalta? That is what we are considering next. We are also considering that he might have mercury poisoning from the removal of his dental amalgam fillings, but a lot of people involved with the whole mercury thing seem to be a scam, so we're trying to be careful about going that route. Any more info you could give would be great. Thanks! |

Note the bold faced sentence. Run as fast as you can from those people. |
