Title: newbie here and hurting Post by chiefmurph on Sep 28th, 2010 at 5:59pm
Been a while since i had a cluster. Started getting them a few weeks ago and they are getting worse. I've got a doc's appointment tomorrow but am afraid that they will know nothing about these headaches.
Any advice on what I should be telling my doc? I've been down this road before and went to Yale Neurological Center. They put me through the O2 treatment, several different types of meds, imatrex, verapamil, topamax. I've even tried melatonin, which seems to have work somewhat. I'm wondering if there are any new drugs out there? Having a hard time functioning during the day and my job really doesn't have too much room to be making mistakes. Sorry i'm rambling but had to jot something down because as you all know, the only people that understand this pain is the ones who suffwer from it. |

Welcome to the board, sure a pain when he rears his ugly head again ain't it? Not much NEW, just changes in how we use the existing treatments. Did Verapamil or Topomax work at all as a prevent? What doseage were you on? Have you tried Lithium as a prevent?
Did oxygen work for you as an abortive? If not, have you read the oxygen info tab on the left, to make sure you're maximizing its effectivenss. A daily supplement regimen has been helping many on the board. Magnesium, Vitamin D with Calcium and Zinc, washed down with lemonade, up to 4X a day. It modifies your arterial ph making you less succeptible to attacks. Really helped me out last cycle. Lastly look at this website clusterbusters.com alternative treatments that have been showing pretty remarkable results! Joe |
