hi all am new here am 23 and just diagnosed whith ch after 4 years of pain! went for mri scan and every thing was ok :) the doctors was surprised how i managed to cope with the pain for solong with out treatment! i was on Pizotifen for 4 years because my doctor thought a had migraines they did nothing but make me gain 2stone lol any way i got the greater occipital nerve block done last month and got oxygen home with me and got the sumatriptan injection

Awesome that you have the 02 and the injections, just want to confirm you have a good 02 set up as that makes all the difference in the speed and effectiveness of the aborts!

Non Re Breather Mask, high flow regulator of at LEAST 15 LPM, get on it as soon as the tingle of the beast starts!

Has your doc talked to you about any prevent meds? A med you take daily to reduce the number and intensity of your hits? I use lithium, blocks 60-70% of my attacks, Verapamil is the most common first line prevent, Topomax also has a loyal following.

Glad to hear you found a doc who knows CH, that's huge. Welcome to the board.

thanks yes i have a non re breather mask, high flow regulator at 15 LPM it wasnot my doctor who diagnosed me he sent me to a specialist at Southern General Hospital:) yes they said to me about the lithium but thats if nothing else works ill have to go on that

Ok young man, I remember being 23 and having those clusters.. You got alot to learn, and you are in the right place to learn it.

I only wish i could have found this site whn i was 23, and not 43.. lol

Hey marc2010,

I hope the 02 is working good for you! If it ever fails you, please keep in mind that many of us require higher than 15 LPM.
