Hello, so I finally took the plunge and got myself the demand valve system (from Lifegas) along with the 25lpm regulator (CGA 540). The posts here have been extremely helpful. However, I need some help with how to piece it all together with the O2 tank. The instructions that came with were not all that helpful. I was able to attach the regulator and I have also attached the hose to one of the DISS connections. However, when I turn it on, O2 starts coming out of the nipple piece (the barb fitting) instead. Something I'm doing wrong? I'm pretty sure that's not expected, right? Thank you! How do I ensure that the O2 is coming out only from the DISS fitting where the hose is connected?

Turn the flow rate knob to "0".

Racer1 is right, turn the flow rate to 0, the demand valve by-passes it.

Thank you both! Yes, it works and it's nice to have that kind of flow... at least now I don't feel like I'm wasting O2 when I'm exhaling. And yes, I do feel better, faster.

You know, I had the exact same question...and when Batch told me (very patiently and kindly) to zero the flow rate, and just breathe in (that's why its called a demand valve) I felt kinda dumb but was wonderfully pleased that it worked! Good luck with this. Also, I have found (and maybe it depends upon the model) that from time to time, I push the button that releases the full O2 pressure of the tank just to give me some help in making sure I get full deep breaths in the critical first 5 minutes.
