Title: *&%$ Neuro
Post by Ginger S. on Jul 14th, 2010 at 5:57pm
*&%$ Neuro pissed me off...This is a neuro I've had for years and he once again forgets to include one of my medications on the prescription refill, for (my back up) Imitrex Nasal. It was his suggestion months ago to do this since my ins. will only cover 4 shots per mo.  So I go to my last appointment, he says you need all the usual prescriptions, I said yes of course DUH!!  I call to put in my refill request for my meds and this med is not on the prescription according to the pharmacy.  I looked at the prescription when he gave it to me as I always do...but who besides a fucked up chicken can read that writing anyway?  So now I am stuck without a med. until I can get a hold of him and until he decides he has the time to call it in.  This is the same SOB who refuses to prescribe O2.

I am sooooooooo Ready for a New Dr. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for reading my vent...    >:( >:( >:(

Can't blame ya for being ready for a new dcotor - any SOB who refuses to prescribe O2 is a particularly lousy SOB in my book.  >:(

Some days punching a person in the nose doesn't seem all that barbaric. :'(

Does the SOB give a reason for not prescribing O2?

Beyond the pat answer of " I'm not prescribing Oxygen to you so you can increase your blood oxygen level."
NO!

I have repeatedly given him the O2 info. from this site and explained that I am looking for the vassal constrictive value, not blood oxygen level.  He hasn't as far as I can tell read the info. I have provided for him and every time I try to bring it up again he says "Lets not go there."

ggggggrrrrrrrrrr  ASS!

Sorry I'm not mad at anyone here, but this has been an on going battle with my current neuro.

Batch has kindly forwarded my info. to Dr. Todd Rozen and I am currently on his (Months Long Waiting list).  For now though I am stuck.   :-/

Heya Ginger,

something I do here but not sure if it's possible where you live...

whenever I have a situation like that I call my GP.
She is very understandable and often just a phonecall to her is enough to make the prescription. then I can just come and pick it up. If it is something she is unaware of I'll have to come by for a visit but going to a GP is generaly much more easy and practical than visiting a neuro.

If needed she will call the specials for the necessary details while I'm there and will do so until she gets a hold of someone to get the necessary details. Even if it is through one of her collegues, she is not affraid to admit she needs to consult with other people. Given, I have a wonderful GP who never lets me out in the cold. She deals with stuff at the moment itself so I'm not out there for days sitting on nothing.

Maybe the law where you live is different and only neuro's are allowed to prescribe those meds?

In all honesty, your neuro should just fax you the extra prescription or so instead of having you waiting for a new appointment or so...

take care ginger!

Hi Ruva:

GP said he would help anyway he could, but would not go against the neuro with regards to treating my CH.

I don't have to wait for another app. with the neuro to get my prescription, lord help them if I did...Would be really angry by then!  I will be calling there office today and making sure to put an Urgent tag on my message to him to call or fax in the prescription.  That is if he's in the office...don't even want to think about that possibility right now.

Just irks me that he knows what I go through and was even looking at my previous prescriptions when he wrote up the new one...he had a Mental block on the back up Imitrex apparently.  This is not the 1st time he's done this and this combined with his hard-line no O2 is ticking me off.

Thanks for your supportive replies all!

OMG The screw ups this month with my prescriptions are littering the floor like confetti !!!

1st neuro screwed up and didn't write the prescription correctly (see above postings).

2nd the Pharmacy screwed up and put in the system that the nasal imitrex was filled this mo. and billed the ins. co. for a prescription I never got, all this happened the day before I even called in the refills for my prescriptions.   :o  (Might want to count this screw up as at least 2 not just 1.)

3rd the ins. co. followed through with screw up number 2 and paid the pharmacy claim.

4th now the pharmacy can't figure out what happened or who made the error (more like they are saying it is not human error.) and my ins. co. is now all over their ass for this screw up.

In the end I am shafted and waiting to find out when my prescription will be filled or if it will be filled, still waiting to hear back from the ins. co.

Did I mention my arse hurts ???   :-? :-? :-?

Kickher while she's down why don't you...
Had yet another CH hit (8kip) at work today and had to run for the imitrex shot.

Hey, Ginger. I am sorry you are having insult added to injury. And I probably should know this, so forgive me, but do you have O2 despite your neuro's reluctance? And what's he care why you want it? Switching dr's can take time, as you know, so I would encourage you sooner rather than later to find a new neuro. Good luck with all this and my prayers are with you for a pf day, and night, and day and night....lance

O2; Yes I already know about O2 and Yes I went around him and got a hospital grade O2 machine, it only gives me up to 6lpm but it's better than nothing.  Takes longer and am on it more often, but beggars can't be choosers.

New Neuro; Yes, already working on it with Batch's help I am trying to get in to see Dr. Todd Rozen here in Wilkes-Barre.

It just seems to be extra frustrating lately with everything about my CH and medications.   ::)
So A Venting I will go, got to, other wise my head might explode >>  [smiley=mad.gif] [smiley=bomb.gif]
