Title: Ive finally found some relief after 15 years Post by Marina K on Jun 20th, 2010 at 5:07am
Hi All. I am a cluster headache sufferer and I know the impact it has to one's health, life, work etc. After trying many medications and seen many doctors i have finally found what helps for me. When i get the first sign of cluster trigger i start to take Lyrica pregablin tablets I immediately start to take 3 tablets a day, if you start on 1 a day it doesnt work as its not that effective must start on 3 a day. The only shortfall is it makes you sleepy but who cares I get lots of rest and im headache free. Water also helps alot, i never used to drink much water but now i do. The 3rd secret is botex injections once a year to the head which a doctor needs to perform. My life has changed since i have done the 3 above. I have been well now for 3 years plus yes i get triggering and i start the 3 above and im ok. I used to suffere every 6 months before and the pain used to break me. All the best everyone. xx :)

Hi Marina - glad to hear that the Lyrica works so good for you!
I've taken it's close cousin Neurontin (same active ingredient of pregablin), and found that it would help reduce the frequency of hits, but not knock them out altogether. |

I'm new to posting -- in the middle of a god-awful spell but doing okay until I found out today that my insurance will not authorize Lyrica (I'm currently on a two week sample that runs out in two days). I'm fighting them now. Did you have any problems getting this authorized? If so, any advice you can give me? And I've been trying to try botox but my doctor said it's incredibly difficult to locate in cluster headaches -- can you give me any specifics on that? Thanks so much.
