Title: Facial Skin Rash Post by klruiz on Jun 9th, 2010 at 9:38am
Has anyone ever broken out in a rash at the peak of their cycle? I have a rash covering my face (with some tiny blisters.) Curious is anyone else has ever experienced this.

I can not say I have experienced something like this, but I seem to have a temporary itchy thing on my left cheek. It comes and goes sometimes, in and out cycles. It never stays for more than 2 hours...
It swells up in no time, becomes pretty red and starts itching. Last time I had it just before the peak of a cycle. |

When I go off steroids I break out with acne like a high school sophmore, all over my back! Never had it happen on my face.......well not since high school! ;D

I was going to say the same as Joe - are you (or have you recently been) on prednisone?

No, I had only been on verapamil (80mg, 3x/day) since for 7wks. Dr. wanted me to taper off. After about 1 1/2 wks, I started having HAs that became increasing more intense. Then I broke out in a rash (my entire face and neck, especially around my temples and forehead). Dr. said to increase the verapamil again, but the rash was not related. I couldn't find a dermatologist (I either had to be self-pay or wait until December!) Went to a minor emergency clinic this afternoon. Dr. said it could be stress related acne from the pain. I'm trying some antibiotics to see if they help.

If the antibiotics don't help, you might want to try OTC hydrocortisone cream.

When I am in cycle, I always break out in little blister like bumps, which break and turn red on my hands and feet. My doc says they are excema(sp?), brought on by all the stess and depression i go through. maybe its that.
maybe you need a steroid cream. good luck christine |

When I have a headache my face on the side of the headache becomes very sensitive, to the point that it feels like just touching it could flay the skin off... I wonder whether there could be a connection between your rash and the trigeminal (facial) nerve going crazy. Shingles presents as a rash and is nerve related.
