Good advice there... Melatonin did help me too. You just have to go up slowly like 3mg a night. Don't take 12mg the first night. I also make sure that the oxygen tank is full and everything is connected and ready to go. All I have to do is wake up, turn the crank and breathe. Night attacks can be pretty well along by the time you wake up and realize what is going on. Having your abortives ready is the best you can do. If the bugger keeps coming back I'll slam an energy drink or cup of coffee. Some others will pop a cafergot or resort to Imitrex (but not both!!!). For some who have been getting slammed regularly and need a break bad, I've heard of using Naratriptan (Amerge) or Frovatriptan (Frova) for short stretches (days). Amerge will get you 4-6 hours of relief. Frova can last up to 24 hours but has a 3 hour onset of action. So you have to take it 3 hours ahead of your expected visit from the beast. Good luck... -Dennis- |

If it is avaiable for you: ergotamine, 2mg SL tab, dissolved under the tongue about one-hour before bed.
It's an old timers' block to night attacks and worked well for me. |
