I've seen this "joke" posted in a lot of places.  I can't quite figure out what people think is amusing about praying for the death of our president, or any other person for that matter.

No one's Praying for the death of no President... it's a joke... Just like any other... Even God has a since of Humor..  So please don't take it to heart...

I don't agree with, nor to I like all the comedy  posted here or other place... but I don't let it get to me... And as many as I post.. I know there are many that don't like them... I don't do it to upset or hurt any ones feeling... I do it because I'm a 33 yrs. cluster headaches sufferer, a 26 yrs Breast Cancer Survivor, a 34 yrs c-1 & c-6 Fracture  Survivor... and because I enjoy laughing and making others laugh...  I'm willing to bet even the President would laugh at it.....

So even though I didn't write it, I apologize if it hurt your feelings.... But I don't apologize for passing it on,,,,, which I did.

Exactly where is it in this joke that someone is praying for the death of the president? ......read it several times and all I see is someone talkin to God and lettin him know who their favorite president is (Cause that's the punch line of the JOKE).....I would agree with the comment if it were accurate but its not.....Good Grief, political correctness has invaded the damned joke section!!!!

I guess I just don't understand the humor in that joke.  It basically says "Dear Lord, please strike Barack Obama with a terrible disease that will ravage his body and cause him a slow painful death".  That's not funny to me.  Those were all tragic events that happened to people that were loved by many, and are then being wished upon our President.

What if the joke was, "Dear Lord, in the last 10 years you took my favorite beach in Thailand, my favorite country, Haiti, and my favorite city, New Orleans. Just wanted to let you know my favorite state is California."  All tragic events now being wished upon some other innocent people.  Not all that funny.

I like a good joke as much as anyone, and usually the more tasteless the better.  But I just don't see the humor in this.  Maybe it's just me because a lot of people seem to.

It's not political correctness.  The clear and obvious implication is that the person "talking to God" desires God to "take" (bring death to) Barack Obama, the same as he did to Patrick Swayze, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson.  If that isn't understandable, then the joke makes no sense whatsoever.  So please don't claim the death of the president isn't part of this by saying it is just someone "lettin him know who their favorite president is". 

Politics aside, joking about someone dying or experiencing any intense physical pain for that matter, just doesn't seem that funny (and we should know!) whether it's the president, a family member, a friend, or the wonderful people on this board .  "Dear Lord, I hope you kill my neighbor" isn't really a joke.  "Dear Lord, I hope Dallas gets hit by Kip 10's every day for a year" isn't all that funny either, but it has the same basic premise with the same basic desired outcome of this "joke".
