Title: O2 ???????
Post by Pfunk on Mar 28th, 2010 at 1:48am
I  need to find out how to get a bigger tank to keep at home as the local medical supply store only carries the E tank and, as we all know, refilling that so often is not to cost efficient. They said they can order a bigger tank for me but I've seen that some of you have actually had tanks delivered to you. Is there somewhere I can call?

Apria for one has big 'ol tanks they will deliver. They allowed me to have several simultaneously.

The bumz won't deliver on a Sunday though - at least not in my town.

Did Apria force you to have a concentrator as well?  They are telling me I can have tanks but I have to keep the concentrator which is an unneccessary expense since it doesn't support the 100% O2 or flow rate (in other words it's useless!)

Call your insurance company and ask for a list of Oxgyen suppliers in your area that they work with.  Failing that, look in the yellow pages under medical supplies.  You'll find someone that will deliver what you need.

Is Apria charging you for the Concentrator?  That's nuts!!!  I'd call them back and ask where on your Oxygen prescription it says "concentrator".  If you still don't get anywhere ask to talk to that person's manager, and then his manager, and so on till you find someone with some common sense.

I used Apria before and they never tried to force a concentrator on me.

APRIA user here, they did not require a concentrator and are awesome about last minute deliveries when I'm stupid and run low! ;D
