Title: Looking for a high flow regulator Post by godsjoy777 on Mar 6th, 2010 at 12:03pm
Hi everybody.....
I'm 56 and had clusters for approx 18 years or so....(I don't like counting). Last cycle was a full 16 weeks with one ER visit....I try to stay as med free as possible....Have tried many prevents in the past that only extended my cycle ( 9 months on year )....and made me feel like crap! I am very careful not to use too many triptons as well....only once per week so I get at least one full night's sleep....Too many tripton's also seem to give me more hits....All that to say I keep an O2 tank of my own and rent several per week during cycle.....My regulator only goes up to 12-15 and my bag got a rip in it last cycle which sent me to the ER... I would like to find a very high flow regulator like some of you have tried to hyperventalate and maybe get quicker and better relief. My cycle isn't due to start for a few months yet...so I am being proactive here. Blessings! Karen |

Good for you!
Is there a question in there somewhere? How can we help? Many different types of regulators are sold on e-Bay. |

Thank you Brew and Skyhawk....You figured out my questions in the midst of all that....:-) I will give those places a call so I get the right kind of regulator...I only have an e-tank so far and rent several per week when the beast hits. Might have to check into the M tank.
I had a couple of good bubble masks...One I purchased from this website a few years back....but they have kind of hardened....Time to get all my weapons back in the arsenal for the next go around....unless the Lord heals...Still waiting for that. Blessings! Karen |

Just an FYI about the regulator links I posted. The Medline is made in China, the Flotec is made in USA, Indianapolis, In.

Hi
I have found that doing away with the mask altogether and just breathing straight through the tube in your mouth works wonders and saves O2. Careful not to inflate yourself like a balloon. Good luck. George |

Zimbax, glad to hear the tube works for you but, the reason we use a mask with a bag is so there is enough O2 available to take a full breath.
It's like, if you drink from that same tube you get whatever volume that size tube can supply. If you put the tube in a glass and let the glass fill you have more available. So the O2 you get is restricted by the size of the tube even at higher flow. The O2pti mask available here comes with a mouthpiece. Regular non-rebreathers masks don't. Don |
