Title: Sounds crazy but works for me
Post by k9lover4 on Nov 1st, 2009 at 1:28am
I am 49 and have been an eposodic sufferer since age 23.  Every other year I have cluster cycles lasting 2-3 months on average.  Two years ago I stumbled on something that would abort my headache if I caught it just as it started to come on.  My recent cycle started a few nights ago and I tried it again and it still works. I told my pain specialist about it two years ago and he thought I was crazy. When I saw him the other day and told him again he said he has heard that it has aborted headaches in some individuals.

Enough of the suspense. When I feel a headache coming on I masterbate.  No joke.  It is not easy and often not conveinent.  I can't do it at work as I do not want to get fired and almost imposible to do it in a public bathroom as I cannot get aroused in that environment. Works great at home and has worked everytime unless the pain has already progressed too far.  Most of the time I can feel the pain diminish and vanish just during peak excitement before ejaculation.  Other times it remains until ejaculation and then vanishes.  It has been a godsend to me.  My theory is that sexual arousal close or at ejaculation causes the body to release a chemical that somehow stops the dilation of the blood vessels in the brain.

On the negative side, use of masterbation is not a cure it just stops the onset of a headache.  The headaches can get knocked down but in a few hours they get right back up and try to attack again.  When I let them out and did not try to stop them I would have 2-4 a day.  When I masterbate I could have 4-6 attacks but can abort them all if I catch them early.  Another drawback is getting aroused through  piercing pain.  Not easy but you have to use our imagination and focus on something that is very arousing whatever that my be.

Don't knock it till you have tried it. Not one thing works for everyone and this is not for everyone.  I would love to hear from others who have found releif doing the same.

Please no nasty or sarcastic replys!

Sexual stimulation as an abortive has been brought up on this board several times over the years.

While some folks have reported success, most responses were along the lines of a complete inability to even begin to concentrate on the subject at hand when an attack is approaching - even with a highly skilled and motivated partner.

If taking matters into to your own hands works for you, far be it for me to argue.

I use oxygen for 3-6 minutes to abort my CH's - which I do in my car or work.

Marc

Seems the manager of the supermarket didn't like my form of therapy, and the cops agreed with him.

Was that you in the trenchcoat behind the magazine rack that the police were talking to?

I havn't tried solo sex but if it gets pretty heated, regular sex is a trigger for me when in cycle. Or anything else that gets my body temperature up.

Interesting thread   ;D

So if someone asks me how to abort my answer should be:

"Its all in the wrists"
