Yikes... my heart beat has gone very erratic . Skipping beats and all. I am on Verapamil, and know it is a side effect of that.
My question is...will it go back to normal as I taper off it...Has anyone else had this, and what happens next? I am waiting on a call from my dr.

Yes, it can be from the Verap.

These are the kind of issues which should be put on the doc's plate at once......

Just call the office and leave a phone report. You don't have to make an appt. If the doc is concerned, he will call and get you in to see him.

If all else fails and you feel you are at risk then go to an ER and have them call your Doc.

If you're taking any taurine (either a supplement or in the form of energy drinks) along with the verapamil, you should stop immediately.

Most people can tolerate a little of both, but for some it will majorly mess with your heart rhythms.

A HA...that would be why!

Thanks for that heads up...I have been doing that.

I did call the doc, and they never called me back.
Anyway...about 11:am,,the ol heart started to act normal again..but that sure was scary.

I guess the quest to be pain free is just so strong, Its hard to go slow at it. :D

Also avoid grapefruit in anything when taking Verapamil. It can do it too.

Thanks all. just thought I'd let ya know....my heart rythms seem to be back to normal.
