Lisa's mom, Charlotte (cash5542) is having surgery this morning because she fell after their dog, Maddie, ran into her the other day at the park and broke her tibia plateau and a few bones near it!  She was actually supposed to come up and meet us in Philadelphia on Sunday, but plans had changed and she ended up breaking her leg instead!!  :(  She found out Wednesday that she will be having surgery today by what sounds like an excellent orthopedic surgeon who specializes in these sorts of injuries!!  They will be putting in rods and plates, and the recovery will be approx 12 weeks, so this is not going to be a pleasant road at all. :(

Just wanted to ask everyone here to send up some extra prayers/vibes/good thoughts/what have you for Charlotte today!!!  Her surgery is late morning, and as soon as I hear from Lisa or Charlotte (if she's up to it), I will let you all know how it went!  I've got class till 4pm, so if I can't get on here until this evening, that may be my earliest chance at internet access to post!

Charlotte, we are all here for you!!  Break a leg!!!...Oh wait....  ::)  :P

Just to let you all know - I haven't been ignoring everyone, but I haven't heard from Lisa or Charlotte yet this evening!  I text messaged Lisa a bit ago, but haven't heard back, so I figure they are probably busy.  Charlotte was either coming home later today or sometime tomorrow, so perhaps they were trying to get things situated at home!  I work crazy hours the next 2 days (12 hour shifts) and can't get on ch.com while at work, so if I do hear something, I'll try to post when not at work!

I know Charlotte will smile when she reads the posts here!!  And heck, if she feels like it, she can come up and stay with us and go to Jason's PT clinic in Delaware for rehab! haha... We only have a cat - though I suppose they can be dangerous if they get under your feet while you're trying to walk! :-P

I'm home!!!!!My insurance company had to list this as out patient, less then a day but they knew it would be longer. I ended up leaving Mon. night, not Sat. morning. I had to get on pill forms of pain management, do a few steps in PT and get in and out of this little play car before they were confident to discharge. There is a place for narcotics! I left on 10 mg of percocet, throwing up but am trying 5 today. I understand it takes awhile to get the anestesia and the post op morphine out. My pain is manageable but this is going to be a long road of recovery. No weight bearing for 8 weeks and no work for 12.

Thanks so much for the well wishes an simple pun humor! No matter what Chuck thinks, Erik had NOT A THING to do with it. It's times like these that make you realize how important your spouse is. Erik has been WONERFUL. Thanks again for everything and thank you Carrie for posting! Not sure I'll make it up to Jason. I have home pt for now. ;)

Wow... That's quite the accident. Take care of yourself Charlotte and hope the healing goes very well. Being forced to rest myself, I'd recommend getting a little bell to summon your other half for all your needs!!  ;D
