Title: Insurance roadblock
Post by inyoureye on May 7th, 2009 at 3:40pm
I tried to search with no luck, but can someone link me to the step by step directions for getting the insurance company to pay for the amount of trex I actually need.  They pay for 8 shots per 30 days, I need roughly 1/day.

Thanks in advance

Other than getting your doctor involved, and nagging them to death, I am not sure.

Have you ever considered switching to oxygen as your primary abortive?  It is safe, effective, cheaper, and a lot less taxing on your body than Imitrex.

Since I switched, I only use a shot of 'trex about once a month ...

Go to OUCH (left), select treatment and other information, scroll down to insurance.

Hey Chuck, yes, I have a full arsenal of tanks here, lol.

My problem is I'm a UPS driver and can't have a tank on the truck (hazmat laws)  The trex is for day hits

Thanks Bob ;)

Hmmm, very interesting! I went through this with the place that I work at (I transport developmentally disabled adults), and therefore I had to confirm it's safety. Checeked out CalOsha, D.O.T., etc. Found out that there were NO restrictions. I carry an E tank onboard -  as I get hit up during transport. I simply pull off the road and use my O2. Is it more of a company policy thing??

Have you ever tried the imitrex tip on the side?  It makes one dose of trex last for two or even three attacks, if you can measure it correctly.  It really works for me and you should try it.  If you need one dose a day, and you get eight days worth, it can make your trex last for 16 or even 24 days if youre careful.

good luck,
chrisw
