Title: sick off meds Post by Val_ on Apr 16th, 2009 at 9:48am
SO -
thought I'd throw it out there... I know lots of you have tried many meds. Have you gotten sick off of them? (I thought I'd just change them up if they weren't effective. Didn't expect This!) I have been sick as a dog since last night - haven't done anything different from the last few days so I don't know if it is triggered from a migraine I got yesterday (my first this CH cycle) or from the preventative meds which I have been increasing - prednisone and verapamil...increased Mon tho. But I thought I'd throw it out there. :-/ Back into the doc this am. back to the drawing board. HA Val |

indeed. :P Just got O2 actually... had my first waking PF hour Tues night - in 2 1/2 weeks!! I can't fathom trying to abort a CH right now as sick as I have been with O2 however... and if it Was the migraine that brought it on, not Just the meds - I'm SOL Just wanted to see if anyone has gotten sick off the preventatives alone... |

There are all sorts of reactions that are possible to meds. It COULD be a reaction, OR it could be just a virus or flu.
Make sure you bring it up to your doctor. BTW, I answered your latest PM ... GO FOR IT!! Chuck |

I had some bad reactions from meds, but not prolonged illness.
I'm with Chuck - talk to your doc about all the effects and try keeping a diary. Also, it's worth keeping a stash of non-prescription weapons just in case. Ice packs and red bull. Em x |

Val,
Back when I still took the meds neuros subscribed to me, I always read carefully the possible side effects, because for some reason I got too many of them. When ch went into remission for 11 months in 2005, I decided that if it returns, I won't go back to neuros. Ch returned and I kept the promise I made to myself. It's been energy drinks, caffeine tablets mostly since and one guarana trial this cycle around. It's wise to keep a diary and see what happends. Talk to your neuro, if you're worried about something the meds might cause you. After all - neuros know what the meds are supposed to do, you know what they will do to you. Anyways, I wish you lots of PF time very soon and feel much, much better! Sanna |
