Title: Push Ups!
Post by JimH333 on Jan 30th, 2009 at 6:38pm
Hi All,
I just aborted an incoming CH buy immediately doing 30 push ups as soon as I got "that feeling" one was coming on....
Has anyone else tried this with success?
Perhaps it is the blood rushing to my head thus bringing with it oxygen??

Hang tough,
Jim

I'd wager the blood rushing AWAY from the head to the muscles may have been more likely.

For some excersize is great, for some, it's a trigger.

Just glad you made it past this one.

One of many examples of what aborts one, is a trigger for another! I used to go for a run when an attack started, sometimes it'd abort it, sometimes ratchet it down several clicks, sometimes it didn't help at all.

Now I sit on my ever widening butt and suck 02! Not in nearly as good a shape but it beats the dog snot outta my CH!

Not as crazy as it sounds really.  There was an old timer on he board a long time ago that swore by doing squat thrusts to the point of exhaustion to abort a hit.  Perhaps it was the late Kip.  I can't remember his name.

Physiologically this makes sense.  strenuous excersize increases blodflow to muscle divertin it from the brain, increases breathing where you are getting more O2 and blowing off CO2 and gives a rush of adreanaline which is a vasoconstrictor.  All the above help reduce what causes the pain from an attack.

I just met someone last night who thinks he might have CH, and for as long as he can remember exercise would abort an attack if he did it early enough, but if it was too far into the hit it would make it worse.
