Title: Links to show your employer/family what CH is
Post by pubgirl on Sep 1st, 2008 at 10:33pm
Following Linda's thread below am posting this separately as it may be REALLY useful to people:

I cannot believe his bravery and I can't really bear to watch Chuck's agony on the video of his attack so here are the links below which are perhaps a bit "easier" for the average person to watch:

They include: (Brits I'm afraid but they have nice voices!)

Several very good summaries of what CH is including ECH and CCH by a knowledgeable doctor (which is miraculous as most stuff I see from Doctors like the one on You Tube are rubbish) It could also help people who are unsure of or can't get a diagnosis as the diagnostic criteria are really clearly explained. I would only quibble with one VERY minor detail about sex bias.

Some real sufferers explaining the pain and what it means to them. You can also see a clustermasx and an Imi pen in use.

I showed them to Pink and he was impressed and also sent them to my family and close friends to try and help them understand so it may be useful for others too?

Added: Perhaps when people have had a chance to see them  they could leave feedback and if they are as valuable as I think they are- DJ might think about us having them here on a fixed thread or a link of some kind??

Thanks J

It isn't my find or my work- lots of effort by OUCH went into making this happen for educating people here and quite a lot of people on ch.com know the people featured in the videos!

I don't want to seem too enthusiastic but I think they are absolutely brilliant and have a host of uses for sufferers and supporters

Wendy, those are GREAT links!  Thank you for posting them!

Very clear, concise, and to the point.  (Or at least they are clear, once you get over that funny accent that they are talking with)  (When are the English going to learn to speak English?)

Thanks again for bringing these out to this site.

Chuck

Those are great, Wendy! A bit more palateable for those who cannot take Chuck's video, or Tony's.
Personally, I think both are necessary.
DJ?

Good on ya, W the B!

Thanks Wendy,  it took well over an hour to download those clips but it was well worth it!  To all those involved in the making, I say thank you.

I just hope I get the opportunity to show them to my mother, who 22 years later still does not understand at all what cluster headache is and honestly takes very little interest.  She assumes that I get 'headaches' because I'm not eating properly or not getting enough sleep (no I'm not!) etc etc etc.

Fantastic stuff!

Who's the tosser in the blue and white shirt Wend? ;D

Seriously though, I think these are strictly copyrighted (they got chucked off youtube, for example).

Great info Wendy.  This is something for my family to see since I hide when experiencing hits.

I did ask Val if you ever changed your shirt!

They are free for anyone to view on the Net- that is all I was suggesting

Thanks for posting this; it will be valuable in the short term for us as we get over everyone's initial reactions...& save us much explaining. :)
