Are lefty's getting hit on the left side? Are righty's getting hit on the right side? Meaning are you left handed and does that correlate with your CH side. Same for the right. just curious :-?

Side of pain appears to be  random assignment by the gods! No clinical importance except if you shift from one-sided to both sides it MAY signal a move to chronic CH.

I am left handed as well as left headed. I now wonder if that correlates with the side of the hypothalamus that has abnormal grey matter growth? I am sure we all have these wonderful questions bouncing around. At least I hope so. :D

Right handed, left headed.  One more thing, my left eye is very dominant.  Has anyone noticed if they get hit on the same side as their dominant eye?  Some things that require focus, like shooting a gun, I will do with my left hand.

Interestingly, after many CH years and then a 4 year break, in my recent 2 1/2 month cycle it was of course right side per usual. Until one weekend when everything shifted to the left. Just for a couple of days. This I found ominous, especially in light of Bob's comment about side-shifting possibly presaging a chronic condition. Here's to the 'MAY'....

Good question Angela. I'm sure someone will answer it intelligently. Far as I'm concerned both my eyes work equally well.... or poorly. I still can't see in the dark, through walls or terribly well underwater, for instance.

I am righthanded, and my clusterside is right. But when I was in the military, I used to aim with my left eye. So now I am confused about what my dominant eye is. They seem to work equally as far as depth is concerned. And I work with my eyes.

To check for your dominant eye look at a small object across the room (about 10-20 feet away).  
Form a triangle with your hands by overlaping your thumbs at the knuckles and crossing your fingers over the knuckles of your index fingers.
Hold that triangle at arms length in front of you and with both eyes open look at the object through that triangle, close one eye at a time.
You should notice that one eye will be able to see the object and the other one won't see the object through the triangle.
Your dominant eye is the one that sees the object.

OR

You will usually unconsciously choose your dominant eye when peering through a telescope or camera viewfinder.

I got it.  Thanks DragonSlayer.  I was cracking myself up because I can not wink my right eye.  And I thought how in the hell am I gonna look only through my left eye.  I decided to make a "OK" sign with my left hand and peer through the "O", using my right hand to cover my right eye.  It worked, just fine ;).  I am very right eye dominant, right handed, and left headed.

Has anyone been keeping tabs on this post and come up with some numbers?  Just curious.

I saw a few lefthead/righthanders out there.

The small sampling thus far is about as evenly mixed as it's possible to get!

R hand, head: 9
L hand, head: 2

R hand, L head: 8
L hand, R head: 2 (of which one was forced L hand-R)

Naturally, I could be completely wrong as I am generally unable to count higher than the fingers on one hand. Either my right or my left. Which I'm continually mixing up.

Some years ago, I actually forgot how to do long division.

I am right handed, although I golf and play hockey left handed.

My attacks in my first year and a half were left-headed. For the last year and a half they have been right-headed.

Never in my life have I thought about my dominant eye! I think I'm right eye dominant as well.
