You couldn't have convinced me otherwise that it wasn't different foods triggering, when I thought different foods were triggering. But that was also when I wasn't making use of the abortives that are available to us. So, as Stevie Wonder said: "When you believe in things that you dont understand, Then you suffer, Superstition aint the way" Every hit was hell and to be endured completely, so yes, I used to get freaked out about everything that preceeded a hit. Life is better now that I've got O2, Red Bull and Imitrex as I can live my life fully knowing that if I get hit, it happens and I take care of it. Scott |

John, That's a lot to lay on a group in the first post. Can you give us some greater background with regard to your headaches? Some of the information you've given so far seems kind of far out to be honest. 10 injections a day? Unless your physician told you nothing (or pharmacist) this would be way outside of the guidelines for use as well as way outside of what almost any of us could get through insurance or for that matter afford otherwise. The balloon surgery? I thought that was more of a "procedure" than invasive surgery. The "Needle in your head" doesn't sound consistent with nerve blocks I've read about. As for more surgery... Have you ever had a doctor prescribe preventatives instead. Verapimil, etc... We're primarily a support group and not physicians, so please measure the feedback you might get. Scott |

Thing is, I was the first patient of my doctor with a CH. He wasn't sure it was that, so he confirmed it like that. I just ordered a 100% oxygen non-rebreathable mask from my doctor + lithium cause it has a good record on breaking chronic ch. *edit* 100% oxygen mask failed, no where to be found in Bulgaria, sold for house-hold usage. Only in hospitals... I would have to order from the states obviously. I avoided a CH today using large amounts of coffee today, but now I have a caffeine headache. Could anyone give a hint how to avoid those? Would a regular painkilller do the trick? |

Barry, Thank you for the information and the links--it is so odd what the brain can do--and it sounds like you have a severe form of EHS-- it seems though like us CHers don't seem to get mild forms of anything though. I am glad you are getting them less frequently now--that would be so startling and disturbing to have that happen while asleep or anytime for that matter. Annette, thanks for the information. It has helped me a lot to get your take on it, and I appreciate you ruling some stuff out. I appreciate you and everyone responding as I realize this is not CH specific. Hope you all had a good weekend, Star |
